I first backed the vellum quote with the patterned paper that forms the very back layer. The hole in the middle is covered by the big piece of black scalloped cardstock. I struggled a long time, trying to find a design element to balance the picture and quote block. I prefer things to be a little disproportionate, but the photo and quote blocks were almost equal. I liked the swirls though (the little swirls were part of one big one that I cut up), which were inked to achieve the right color to match the photo mat and flower.

Used an old ZingBOOM kit, Toy Box, and a vellum quote--I am zipping through those babies lately! I trimmed it and adhered it with glue dots to the green patterned paper, then hid those with the painted chipboard photo corners (actually a slide mount I cut into pieces).

Jack, a.k.a. the CRICKET defender!
Just a fun layout about how Jack would keep vigil at our patio door this fall, watching for, attacking, and eating any cricket that crept in to terrorize our household. I painted a photo mat, star, and stamped letter, then dumped glitter on them for a light, sparkly touch.

Ready to Launch
For a challenge during the Super Bowl Crop-O-Rama on the About Scrapbooking board. Make a tag larger than 2.5" x 3", using ribbon, 3 flowers, patterned paper, stamping, and a word. Not sure what I think of this layout yet. But oh, well! It was fun!

The pinks match better in real life. I've been wanting to make my own scalloped border lately. I trimmed the pink cardstock with large scallop decorative scissors, punched holes inside each scallop, then added some simple black and white doodles.
